Science with Trish

I did science with Trish on Tuesday. We learn't about density and liquid.

We showed that by making a rainbow cup by putting different coloured liquids in a cup and they stayed on top of each other to make a rainbow cup. 

Then we put the pattern of colours backwards and the colour went through each other and stacked on top of each other and it came up with the same pattern.

Science Road Show

On Tuesday, I went to the science road show at Hastings Intermediate. There was a show about science experiments. There were two shows. One was about living things and the other show was about fire and ice, or you could say temperatures. There was one experiment that I really liked and that was when the fire flew up in the air. To do that, they had to use a sort of spray.󠁴󠁔󠁴󠁔

There were some stands with some activities on it. My favourite activity was the chair that would spin around. I wanted to go in the pink spinning room but it was time to go when I wanted to go in. I had loads of fun at the science road show.

Word art

I made a word art on a website. You had to do as many words about the earthquake and put it in your art. I chose to do the earth. Here is a picture of what my art looks like

Marshmallows and spaghetti Parthenon

Horrowitz (my reading group) and I made a Parthenon out of marshmallows and spaghetti stick. We started off with a square and added a triangle on top of the square. Our hands got covered in marshmallow  and my pants were covered in sugar powder. It was fun. After we finished it fell down but luckily we had taken a photo.

MTG

Room 4 and I went to MTG for a school. We got to use a green screen. We had groups and I was in group 2. You had to make a scene of the earthquake in Napier. You could get dressed up into something. I was a nurse in scene 2 and in the rest I was the reporter. There was a down stairs with some facts about the Napier earthquake. I found a book with all the names of the people that died in the earthquake. When the earthquake struck,after it was done, at the beach all the Paua and crayfish went to the shore and we're going to die,but people came and helped to save all of the Paua and crayfish. My group had to the scene of when the earthquake had just struck and we had to report the people in the middle of the earthquake. There was one lady that Greer had to act who ran onto the road in her dressing gown because she had been in the bath, and she didn't have any shoes on so glass got in her feet, but luckily the man next door owned a shoe shop and he had some size10 men shoes she could wear. Everyone had lots of fun at the MTG and I would love to go again some day.
